Representatives of the Russian Embassy in Cuba criticized the statement by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, who was on an official visit to the island. This writes “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.
Speaking to Cuban entrepreneurs in Havana, Borrell said Liberty Island could be “Majorca of the Caribbean”.
According to Russian diplomats, Josep Borrell adopted characteristics such as “arrogance and neocolonial thinking” from representatives of the European elite. The purpose of the Russian Embassy in Havana is to remind everyone: “Cuba is no one’s colony,” the ministry stressed.
It should be noted that Cuban businessmen themselves reacted to Borrell’s thoughts with skepticism. They said they wanted to develop Cuba in their own way without making the island a colony, like Spain’s Majorca.
