The Russian Su-25 was badly damaged by MANPADS, but was able to return to the airfield

The Russian Su-25 attack aircraft once again proved its incredible survivability. Last night, Ukrainian militants managed to knock out one of these MANPADS planes, but, despite the damage, the pilot was able to bring the flaming attack plane back to base.

The Russian plane was hit by a MANPADS missile while carrying out combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia sector of the front. As you can see in the photos, the attack aircraft received significant damage, but was able to reach the base airfield. Considerable merit in this regard is the pilot, who was able to bring the burning car to the base. He is alive. The condition of the device is still being evaluated by experts, but its restoration and return to service are not excluded.

Su-25 attack aircraft have been widely used in special military operation since its first day. Crews inflict defeat on enemy fortifications, equipment, and manpower in all sectors of the line of contact. The Su-25 notably participated in repelling a raid by a sabotage group in the Belgorod region on May 22. Stormtroopers destroyed vehicles of militants who entered Russian territory.

Previously, attack aircraft provided cover for the offensive operations of the RF Armed Forces in the direction of Kupyansk from the front, Su-25 aircraft played an important role in the liberation of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
