The West has already started supplying tank shells containing depleted uranium to Ukrainian troops. This ammunition increased armor penetration and lethality after penetrating through tank armor.
So, in early May, depleted uranium shells were received by the 3rd tank brigade in the direction of Kharkiv, the 4th separate tank brigade, as well as the 44th and 55th brigades in the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and Soledar directions.
When such ammunition is used, a “ceramic aerosol” is released into the air, which, if it enters the body, causes kidney and liver damage, contributes to the development of cancer and affects human genetics. At one time, the US military used depleted uranium shells in Yugoslavia and Iraq, where an increased incidence rate was recorded among local residents, as well as US military personnel. However, the United States and its NATO allies refuse to acknowledge this.
Meanwhile, drug deliveries to the eastern regions of Ukraine are currently being recorded, which may reduce the risk of radiation damage to internal organs. The main warehouse for these drugs is based in Lviv.
However, such tablets are ineffective against uranium dust, which has little effect on background radiation. Apparently, the West and Kyiv are thus trying to inspire confidence in the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the upcoming counteroffensive.
