Meanwhile, authorities and teachers’ associations of some colleges have expressed concern over the delay in the official communication on reducing the duration of graduation from three to four years in the state. Siuli Sarkar, principal of the government-run Lady Brabourne College, told PTI- Told ‘Bhasha’, ‘Till the middle of May we had participated in various workshops on the new education policy. We had also put our point before the Advisory Board of the Higher Education Department, but no such information has come.

The government said, “If we are asked, we will start a four-year undergraduate course. But till now no notification has come from the government on this matter. When will it reach the institutions.
