Shehbaz turned down Imran’s offer of talks

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has outrightly rejected the offer of talks by former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the backdrop of riots and violent demonstrations by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters in the country on May 9. Is. Rejecting the option of talks with Khan’s party outright, Prime Minister Shehbaz on Tuesday said those involved in damaging public and private property on May 9 should be held responsible for anti-national acts.

Prime Minister Shahbaz said in a tweet that dialogue is the key to the development of democracy, but it cannot be done with “anarchists and arsonists” under the guise of politicians. Shahbaz’s statement came a few days after former Prime Minister Khan appealed for immediate talks with the regime. It is noteworthy that earlier Khan had called the current ruler a thief and announced that he would never hold talks with him. Acknowledging in the tweet, Prime Minister Shahbad said that dialogue is inherent in the political process, which matures and develops democracy. He said that many political and constitutional successes are achieved when leaders of political parties hold talks to build a consensus. However, there is a vast difference here that anarchists and arsonists who dress up as politicians and attack the country’s top institutions are not fit to hold talks, he said.

The Prime Minister said such people should be held responsible for terrorist acts. He also termed it as a prevalent practice in developed democracies. Also, in a conversation with Dawn News, Home Minister Rana Sanaullah accused Khan of planning to attack military installations before his arrest on May 09 and asked him to prove it. He has ample evidence for the same. When Sanaullah was asked whether there would be a trial against Imran Khan in a military court. “Absolutely, because Khan planned to attack military installations and then executed it, I think it is clearly a matter of a military court,” he said. The Home Minister accused the PTI chairman of personally organizing and instigating the riots.
