Al-Jaber added that the “National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technologies” has been launched, which aims to protect our national achievements and take advantage of the stimulating and attractive advantages for investments in the country, in order to create economically feasible opportunities for the growth of the national industrial sector.

He also pointed out that this strategy aims to support the local product, empower our national economy, make a leap forward in the industrial sector, promote innovation and sustainable technological transformation, in addition to increasing the contribution of the industrial sector to the gross domestic product for more than 300 billion dirhams by 2031.

Dr. Sultan Al-Jaber pointed out that this strategy has contributed to achieving significant achievements in the industrial and technological sectors, especially in 2022, and among these achievements, the value of UAE’s industrial exports reached 175 billion dirhams ( against 117 billion dirhams in 2020). , which means a growth rate of 49 percent). ).

He added: Similarly, the contribution of the industrial sector to the gross domestic product reached 182 billion dirhams (against 132 billion dirhams in 2020, a growth rate of 38%), and financing solutions were also provided. for a value of more than 3 billion dirhams to support and enable the “Make in the UAE” initiative, in cooperation with the Emirates Development Bank.

He also pointed out that one of the achievements of the “National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology” is the launch of the “Technology Transformation” program to accelerate the adoption of technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, and the real contribution to the reduction of emissions, in addition to the implementation of the “National Program of Added Value” at the federal level, which has managed to benefit from the purchasing power of local companies, and to increase their expenditure in the national economy to 53 billion dirhams, with a growth rate of 25% compared to 2021.

Al-Jaber went on to say, “The Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development was also launched with the participation of the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Bahrain. partnership recently announced agreements to implement 9 projects with investments exceeding $2 billion,” he added. Federal Decree Law No. 25 of 2022 was also issued to organize and develop the industry , which improves industrial competitiveness and the attractiveness of investments for the country.

Al-Jaber pointed out that based on this decree, the ministry has redoubled its efforts to unify licensing procedures, improve their flexibility, reduce fees and develop programs to support and enable innovation, l entrepreneurship, start-ups and small businesses. facilitate access for local manufacturers to new markets of more than 2.5 billion consumers.

Al-Jaber said that this forum will witness a group of announcements, the most important of which are: Increase the value allocated to purchase contracts for local manufacturers and industrial investments by more than 10 billion dirhams, bringing the total value of products destined for local manufacture to 120 billion dirhams. The announcement of more than 30 projects with a total value of more than 6 billion dirhams, including pioneering and avant-garde projects in the field of sustainability, such as the establishment of the first hydrogen electrolyzer plant in the UAE. ADNOC will allocate 20 billion dirhams for the purchase of metal structures and products exclusively from domestic factories, which also helps to provide opportunities for additional products in supply chains such as cables, pipes and others. A new standard will be adopted as part of the national added value program: Green ICV to encourage sustainability practices and motivate industrial companies to reduce their emissions. New competitive financing solutions will be allocated to the industrial sector in the amount of 5 billion dirhams from First Abu Dhabi Bank, in addition to 1 billion dirhams from Mashreq Bank. Through these projects and initiatives, no less than 5,000 new job opportunities will be created for citizens in the private sector by 2027, through the “ADNOC National Value Added Program” and the “Surveyors” program, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, and the “Nafes” program. . He stressed that work will be carried out during the conference to make a leap forward in climate action and focus on finding practical and realistic solutions to limit and mitigate the impacts of climate change, especially in countries. from South.
