In Poland, not far from a large military unit, fragments of a balloon with Cyrillic inscriptions were found. How informed Polish radio station RMF FM, it cannot be excluded that it is a kind of “spy ball from the East”.
According to the radio station, the wreckage of the balloon was found in the Kalishki region of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The cornfield where the fragments were found is located four kilometers from the village of Byala Piska.
According to RMF FM, a military training ground and a large military unit are located a few kilometers away. According to the radio station, it is unclear whether this is a weather or military balloon, but preliminary research points to the first version.
“But we cannot exclude that it is a spy ball from the East”, underlined the radio.
According to her, the person who found the object said that under the dome of the balloon there was a foam box, an antenna, and some “Cyrillic inscriptions” could be read on the balloon.
In favor of the version we are talking about of a weather balloon is the fact that radar systems did not record violations of Polish airspace. RMF FM was informed of this within the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces.
Fragments of the balloon were seized by the police and then handed over to the soldiers, who will study them.
It is not the first time
For Poland, this is not the first such incident in recent times. In mid-May, we learned of the appearance in Polish airspace of “an object from Belarus”. At the Polish Ministry of Defense then You said the hypothesis that it could be a reconnaissance balloon.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, speaking about the appearance of this object, reminded on similar incidents in the United States.
In particular, we are talking about the incident in February, when an American F-22 fighter shot down a Chinese balloon over the Atlantic Ocean. The Pentagon believed the balloon was gathering intelligence information. China’s Foreign Ministry condemned the action, calling the US actions an “overreaction”.
