Four children survived by eating plants for 40 days in the Amazon forest, went missing in a plane crash

Forty days ago a plane crashed in the Amazon jungles of Colombia. After this incident, news came that all the people aboard the plane were killed. It is now reported that four children aboard this plane have been found alive. All of them are brothers and sisters. It is being told that in order to save his life, he spent his days in the forest by eating seeds, roots and plants.

Luis Acosta of the National Indigenous Organization of Colombia (ONIC) told AFP the children ate seeds, fruits, roots and plants they recognized as edible in the Amazon region. Acosta, who took part in the search, said the children were filled with “spiritual power”. Javier Betancourt, another member of ONIC, said: “We have a special connection with nature. The world needs such a special relationship with nature, indigenous people (tribals) live in the forest and take care of it.

These siblings were rescued by a rescue operation by the army and organizations between the provinces of Caqueta and Guaviare in Colombia. The National Organization of Indigenous Peoples of Colombia (OPAC) states that the survival of children is an indication of how much knowledge they had of the natural environment and their relationship with it, which begins in the mother’s womb.

President Petro praised the search team The soldiers worked side by side with indigenous trackers for 20 days during the search. President Gustavo Petro praised the ONIC and the troops and said it shows respect for the jungle. Army helicopters broadcast a recording of the children’s grandmother telling them, in the indigenous Huitoto language, to stay put until rescuers arrived.

The plane crash happened on May 1, 2023. On May 1, a single-engine propeller plane of a company named Cessna crashed. The plane was carrying seven people to the city of San Jose del Amazon in the state of Amazonas. The aircraft had gone off the radar due to engine failure. After that this accident happened. After this a search operation was started but bodies of only three people were found. While four children had gone missing. But the authorities had not called off their search operation. The authorities suspected that the children were survivors.
