Cyclone Biparjoy Update: These cities will be affected; Check list of 67 trains canceled due to bad weather

Heavy rain and thundershowers are expected in parts of India as Cyclone Biparjoy makes landfall in Gujarat’s Kutch, causing inclement weather in several cities.

Cyclone Biparjoy is set to make landfall in India and is expected to affect cities and states near the country’s Western Ghats. The cyclone is expected to make landfall in Gujarat in the coming hours, prompting the evacuation of thousands of people from the state’s coastal areas.

Authorities and security forces have evacuated over 30,000 people from coastal areas to temporary shelters two days ahead of a possible landfall of powerful cyclone Biparjoy near Jakhau port in Gujarat’s Kutch district, reported PTI.

However, Gujarat is not the only state that may be affected by Cyclone Biparjoy. As it makes landfall in India, the cyclone could bring extreme weather conditions to Mumbai, Goa and several other coastal areas of India.

Cyclone Biparjoy: List of cities in the warning zone

As per the recent IMD weather update and current weather conditions, the coastal areas of Lakshadweep, Goa, Mumbai, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka will bear the brunt of the impact of Cyclone Biparjoy.

It is expected that heavy rain and thundershowers would occur over these states for the next 24-48 hours, along with high tide rates along the coasts. Fishermen have also been warned not to venture into the sea and coastal areas have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Ahmedabad IMD director Manorama Mohanty said the cyclone is likely to make landfall on June 15 evening with wind speed reaching 125-135 kmph gusting to 150 kmph between Mandvi in Kutch and Karachi in Pakistan near Jakhau port. crossing is likely.

Cyclone Biparjoy: List of canceled trains

In the next two days, there are many trains which have been canceled due to apprehension of bad weather. Here is the list of 67 trains which have been canceled due to Cyclone Biperjoy in India.

While the southern and coastal states are expected to see heavy rains, it is unlikely that Cyclone Biparjoy will bring respite from the heat to the northern states.
