Bhopal. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team raided Jabalpur late Tuesday evening and caught Central GST Deputy Commissioner Kapil Kamle and his team with a bribe of Rs 7 lakh. Caught red handed taking bribe of seven lakh rupees. This action was taken at the Central GST office located near Rasal Chowk. The deputy commissioner had sought a bribe of Rs one crore from Trilokchand Sen, a pan masala businessman from Rajasthan. Out of this, he had given Rs 35 lakh. The businessman had complained to the CBI after being harassed for the outstanding money.

Originally a resident of Rajasthan, Trilok Chandra Sen told in relation to the incident that he operates a spice factory in Nohta Damoh. The factory had tax dues due to which the GST officials had locked it. On May 19, GST raided the factory and locked it. After this, demand of bribe was being made by Kapil Kamle, Deputy Commissioner of Central GST, to open the factory.

Trilok Jain told that in the meantime he also deposited the GST related to the factory, but the demand for bribe of one crore rupees remained. He was unable to pay one crore rupees. He told Kapil Kamle that the factory was running at a loss, after which a deal to unlock the factory was fixed for a bribe of Rs 45 lakh. A week ago, he had given Rs 35 lakh of the first installment of bribe to Kapil Kamle. After this he urged to open the factory. He also told that GST has been deposited, but Kapil Kamle refused to open the lock of the factory until the remaining Rs 10 lakh bribe was received. After this he complained to the CBI.

He told that as per the plan, he reached the Central GST office with Rs 7 lakh as bribe. Kapil Kamle took the bribe amount and along with his associates started counting the bribe notes. Then the CBI officials caught him red-handed. CBI officers are interrogating the officers and employees caught taking bribe. Important documents have been seized from the Central GST office.
