Noida Pod Taxi Service: Pod taxi service going to start in Noida and Greater Noida, Know Route, Fare and Speed

To install Pod Taxi Service. Country’s first pod taxi service is going to start in Noida and Greater Noida of Uttar Pradesh. The Yogi government of UP has approved the country’s first pod taxi project from Jewar Airport to the proposed Film City.

The UP government has said that this project will be on PPP model, for which global tenders will be issued next week. Noida and Greater Noida of Gautam Budh Nagar district will be the first city in the country, where pod taxi facility will be available. Twelve stations will be built on the 14.6 kilometer long corridor. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 642 crore. The government has set a target to complete the project by March 2026.

Let us tell you that ever since the construction of Jewar Airport has started in Noida, new development projects are also coming up in the district. Under this, now the Yamuna Authority is going to run pod taxis. For this, the Yamuna Authority has prepared the DPR of the project from the Central Government company Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited. Film City, Jewar International Airport and Data Center are being built in the area of ​​Yamuna Authority.

Country’s first pod taxi service in Noida

Explain that a pod taxi is a taxi that looks like a car. It runs without a driver. It runs on steel track. It will start on a 14.6-km route from Jewar International Airport to Film City in Noida, with 12 stations. There is no public transport system in Noida except Metro. For people living in remote areas away from the metro, there is no other option other than a private vehicle.

Tourism will also get a boost

Yamuna Authority has plans to link pod taxi with tourism. For this, there is also a proposal to set up an amusement park on 100 acres in Film City. If the person coming to Jewar airport has time, he can come to this park by pod taxi. Along with this, the local people will also get the option of movement from Jewar Airport.

Before getting approval from the UP government, a study was done of those countries where pod taxi service is running. The Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited Company, a Government of India company, studied pod taxis operating in London, Abu Dhabi and South Korea. 24 passengers will be able to travel in a pod taxi in Noida.

The pod taxi will run at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour. With this, about 8000 passengers will be able to travel daily. A pod taxi can seat 6 to 24 passengers. 112 pod taxis will be called for this project in Noida. Company A will be given a license for this project for 35 years.
