Opposition formula to remove Modi government at the cost of unity It has been suggested earlier also that if the opposition has only one candidate against the BJP and its allies, it can be easily defeated. Now the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken this formula forward through a press conference on Friday. Before the meeting of leaders of opposition parties on June 23, AAP minister and spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said that if Congress does not contest elections in Delhi and Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party will also not contest elections in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Taking a jibe at the Congress, he said that not only does it lack leadership, but it has also started stealing ideas from the newest party, the Aam Aadmi Party. AAP spokesperson Bhardwaj also says that the Congress is unable to understand what the public wants.
In fact, the Aam Aadmi Party is displeased with the fact that in the assembly elections in Karnataka, it has given the guarantee of giving the same women which you repeat in every election. The Aam Aadmi Party is also angry with the Congress that it not only stole its manifesto but also stole the name of the manifesto i.e. the word guarantee.
The Aam Aadmi Party’s allegation may be on the Congress that it adopted the same tactics to win the elections, but your misunderstanding is laughable that following the advice of the Congress, its candidates will field their candidates in Delhi and Punjab in the Lok Sabha elections. Will not field so that it will benefit from not being a candidate in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. It is true that if the Congress does not field its candidates in Delhi and Punjab, then the Aam Aadmi Party is likely to benefit, but if the Aam Aadmi Party in return does not field its candidates in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, then the Congress is not going to benefit much. Look at the cleverness of the Aam Aadmi Party that it aimed to take the Congress from second to third position in Gujarat. This is the reason why Gujarat was not named along with Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. But the reality is that other regional national parties like the Aam Aadmi Party want to recover the entire cost of opposition unity from the Congress itself.
It is a matter of general understanding that Congress is a national party, it will win somewhere and lose somewhere but there is no such party which can benefit it by removing its candidates from more than one or two states. That’s why Aam Aadmi Party’s advice to Congress is to make it realize that it is ideologically bankrupt and it should take your advice seriously, while the fact is that senior Congress leaders know this very well. AAP’s expansion would prove fatal for his party. This is the reason why the Congress no longer takes any advice of the Aam Aadmi Party seriously. (sp)
