How to become a university student out of competition for a college graduate?
“My daughter will be graduating from Minsk College next year and would like to continue her studies at university in absentia. I heard that if she does well, she can enroll in a university without competition. Is that true? Lyudmila Stankevich, Smolensk.”
Belarus has a list of vocational education specialties that fit the higher education profile. This is provided for by the decree of the Ministry of National Education of May 12, 2023. Graduates of the specialties indicated in the list can be registered in the form by correspondence or remotely for obtaining general higher education, special higher education out of competition if there are not less than six points in the education document in the subjects of the entrance examinations.
The list includes several dozen specialties of vocational education. For example, those who graduated from the specialty “manufacture of printed products” can enter out of competition for “editing”, “equipment and technologies for the production of packaging, trade and exhibition and advertising objects”, “systems and printed digital complexes”, “industrial design”, “printing technologies”. And those who have received training in the specialty “demonstration of clothes” will be able to continue their training in the specialties “technological education (labor and fine arts service)”, “technological education (labor service)”, “art education”, ” history of art”, “decorative and applied arts”, “equipment and technologies for the production, trade and exhibition of packaging and advertising objects”.
