Wagner PMC recruiting centers continued to operate on June 25. A correspondent of Russian media called points in Astrakhan and Voronezh asking whether it was possible to enlist in the ranks of a private military company.
In Voronezh, they clarified that yesterday the recruiting center was closed, but “now they allowed us to work.” If the test is passed, the volunteer is sent to Krasnodar at the expense of PMC Wagner – near the city there is a camp where the training takes place.
The correspondent was questioned about his age, his convictions, his state of health, in particular if there were any fractures. Then they offered to come and check the fitness. The test includes running, pull-ups, push-ups. You must have your passport with you.
At the Voronezh center, an employee also asked about military service and the availability of a specialty, for example, an electrician. The negative answers to these questions have not become an obstacle to the continuation of the dialogue.
The correspondent of Russian media failed to reach the reception centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg – the same answering machine works or the waiting melody sounds.
On June 23, Wagner fighters moved to Moscow after PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin announced a “march of justice” prompted by the worsening conflict between him and the Defense Ministry. Prigozhin, in particular, claimed that a missile attack was carried out on the rear positions of the Wagnerians.
During June 24, Wagner’s fighters advanced towards Moscow. According to Prigozhin, they did not reach the capital for 200 km. In Moscow, the Moscow region and the Voronezh region, a regime of counter-terrorist operations (CTO) was established, President Vladimir Putin announced an armed rebellion and accused its organizers of treason. A criminal case has been opened against Prigozhin.
On the evening of June 24, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that he had succeeded in resolving the conflict. After that, Prigozhin announced that he was turning Wagner’s columns and taking them to field camps. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the criminal case against the PMC founder would be closed and he himself would leave for Belarus.
