what putin said about preventing rebellion

During his address to the Russians, President Vladimir Putin returned in detail to the events of the past weekend and took stock of the events that had occurred. The head of state thanked the fighters and commanders of the PMC Wagner, who did not go to fratricidal war and stopped at the last line.

“Today, you have the option of continuing to serve Russia by entering into a contract with the Ministry of Defense or other law enforcement agencies, or returning to family and friends. Anyone who wishes can travel to Belarus,” the president said.

The Head of State stressed that most PMC fighters and commanders were “used in the dark” to direct them against their brothers in arms.

“Therefore, from the very beginning of the events, measures were taken on my direct instructions to avoid great bloodshed,” added the Russian leader.

Vladimir Putin stressed that this takes time. Including, to give the opportunity to change the minds of those who have made a mistake. The Head of State noted that the authorities at all levels since the very beginning of the rebellion immediately took all the necessary decisions to neutralize the threat that had arisen.

“An armed rebellion would have been put down anyway,” Putin assured.

At the same time, he said, the organizers of the rebellion fully understood the situation, “despite the loss of adequacy”.

“They all understood, including that they went to criminal acts, to divide and weaken the country, which is now facing a colossal external threat, unprecedented external pressure. When at the front, with the mention “not a step back!”, our comrades are dying”, noted the president.

The organizers of the armed rebellion, national traitors, the Kyiv regime and its Western bosses wanted fratricide in Russia, the president said. Opponents in Moscow “rubbed their hands together, dreaming of revenge for their failures at the front… but they miscalculated”.

“I thank all our military, law enforcement, special services who stood in the way of the rebels, remained true to their duty, to their oath and to their people. The courage and selflessness of fallen hero-pilots saved Russia from tragic and devastating consequences,” Vladimir Putin said.

The President expressed his gratitude to the whole Russian society, to the authorities at all levels. Putin also thanked Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko for his contribution to the peaceful resolution of the situation.
