In Beijing, an official meeting took place between a member of the Russian-Chinese Council for the Disabled, the founder of the ORTOMODA group of companies, Galina Volkova, and the president of the Chinese Federation of the Disabled, Mrs. Jan Heidi. The meeting was also attended by the co-chair of the Russian-Chinese Council for the Disabled, Ms. Zhao Sujin. The meeting was friendly and frank, based on perfect mutual understanding. Mrs. Jan Heidi shared the work plans of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, among which an important place is occupied by measures aimed at overcoming the poverty of the disabled, the development of a rehabilitation system for the disabled, the creation of ‘a business network for women with disabilities “beauty workshops”, as well as the training of specialists on the basis of newly built in Qingdao National Institute of Rehabilitation.
Galina Volkova discussed with Mrs. Gian Heidi the future direction of cooperation within the Council. Priority areas will include the further development of Paralympism and the interaction of national Paralympic teams, the continuation of the project to supply Russian-made rehabilitation equipment to China.
Mrs. Jan Heidi has accepted the invitation to participate in 2024 in Moscow in the world’s largest event in the field of fashion and universal design – the BRICS Forum “Green Fashion and Universal Design”.
Council Co-Chairman Alexander Lyssenko said after the meeting in Beijing: “Another important step has been taken in the development of the Council’s activities. Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of social support for people with disabilities, after a forced break in work related to the Covid pandemic, has reached a new level. I am sure that our cooperation with the China Disabled Persons Federation in the coming years will lead to a significant improvement in the quality of life of disabled people in our countries.
