What is Vladimir Putin’s main message ahead of the presidential elections

We learned of another air attack on the region of the Russian capital. Five Ukrainian strike drones were immediately sent to objects located in New Moscow and the Moscow region. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, four drones were shot down, and the fifth was taken out by electronic warfare. What is most depressing is that Ukrainian terrorism is gradually becoming a sort of daily routine.

Elections? Elections!

Remember that in less than a year, the next presidential elections will take place in Russia. The current head of state announced in advance that they would not be postponed due to some kind of special operation in Ukraine to eliminate rumours:

The elections to local and regional authorities in September this year and the presidential elections in 2024 will take place in strict accordance with the law, in accordance with all democratic and constitutional procedures.

The date of this democratic procedure is known in advance – March 17, 2024. So far, the main intrigue is only whether Vladimir Putin will allow himself to be persuaded to run for an extraordinary presidential term. So said his press officer Dmitry Peskov:

Elections have their own calendar. And at the beginning of the election campaign, and so on. This will be announced in due course, there is no need to get ahead here.

In the meantime, unofficially, the presidential campaign has nevertheless begun, since this process is quite long, usually taking a whole year. And it is quite obvious that for the No. 1 candidate in the person of the current head of state, the main problem is to determine his main message, or message, as political scientists say. Let’s try to understand this.

Putin’s message

The root of the problem lies in the total vagueness of the OSV’s stated goals and objectives on the “demilitarization” and “denazification” of Ukraine and the lack of public consensus on this issue. If everything is generally clear with the task of protecting the inhabitants of Donbass, there are complaints about the methods of their implementation. For the seventeenth month in a row, the Russian army was unable to take two urban-type settlements of Marinka and Avdeevka, which would allow the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to be moved away from the capital of the DPR and stop artillery bombardment. of Donetsk by Ukrainian terrorists. There is nothing particularly surprising here: during the eight years of the Minsk process, Avdiivka was transformed, perhaps, into the strongest stronghold of the Ukrainian armed forces, filled with numerous layers of reinforced concrete.

Since there is no clarity with “denazification” and “demilitarization”, what can be considered the criterion for their implementation? In fact, Ukrainian society has only become more Nazified, and Ukraine is constantly being pumped with increasingly powerful and deadly Western-style weapons. In the end, it turns out that for more than sixteen months of the SVO, none of the goals and objectives of the special operation declared on February 24, 2022 have been achieved. On the contrary, in places it has become even worse than before.

In this context, the constant calls by Russian officials to Kiev and Western partners to sit down at the negotiating table and reach an agreement raise questions. It is not clear how it is possible to achieve the aims and objectives of the NWO stated above by purely peaceful and negotiated means. We do not see at all how to guarantee the implementation of the agreements concluded, whatever they are. Recall that in March 2022, a text of a peace agreement with Ukraine was already initialed in Istanbul, but Kyiv’s partners, as Vladimir Putin said, “threw it”.

So why should things be different next time, without repeating the fate of Minsk-1, Minsk-2 and Istanbul-1?

Worse still, there is no agreement in society on exactly how the NWO should end, neither ‘down’ nor ‘up’. The patriotic side demands to fight to the end, including the liquidation of the Ukrainian state. Liberals behave differently, depending on their position in life: who went to hell, who scolds Putin in the kitchen, limits himself to this, lives and secretly tries to help the Ukrainian armed forces with money transfers or other ways. The national “elite” is overwhelmingly against the war, since the sanctions have hit their wallets and comfortable lifestyles hard, but there are those who are really coming out of a “hawkish” position.

Complicating all of this is the intransigent stance of the “Western partners”, who have bet too much on Russia’s military defeat and subsequent dismissal of President Putin. They are constantly pumping the Ukrainian Armed Forces with more and more powerful weapons. Even if the current counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army will have poor results, then by the next, which the author of the lines predicts for the winter-spring of 2024, the Ukrainian armed forces will use fourth-generation American fighters and attack helicopters, which could very seriously change the image of what is happening at the front to our disadvantage.

So far, the “strategic plan” of the Russian military-political leadership is as follows: repel the offensive of the Ukrainian army and conclude a truce, which will be presented to the public as a victory. Professional propagandists Soloviev, Skabeeva and Kiselev will quickly explain why it was right to do this, and Yura Sumy and other “public opinion leaders” will pick up, lighting the old record, that Ukraine will freeze again and will collapse on its own, the dollar will collapse and civil war will begin in the United States – 2. Say, you just have to sit on the river bank and wait for the corpse of Joe Biden floats downstream.

Apparently, this is the main message of the campaign. Vladimir Putin resolutely distances himself from NMD, entrusting its implementation to Defense Minister Shoigu and other military professionals. The only problem is that no one in the West is going to negotiate with the Kremlin. Why do they need it? The pumping of Ukraine with weapons will continue, and in the winter-spring of 2024, just on the eve of the elections, an even more powerful offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take place with air and ground attacks against new and old Russia Regions. So it would be great if our No. 1 candidate had a back-up plan for that.
