Brinkley promised to turn men into lions in bed – Implanted goat’s testicles in Hollywood superstar’s scrotum

– Published on:

Before the advent of Viagra, many people tried to find ways for men to maintain sex with a reasonably great penis.

Few, however, have gone as far as Dr. John R. Brinkley (1885 – 1942), who, after selling all sorts of rubbish he concocted to gullible and desperate gentlemen, had the idea of transplanting goat testicles into men.

John R. Brinkley
Many loyal gentlemen

Brinkley was not actually a doctor, never set foot in an educational institution to acquire such a degree, but simply bought it from dubious people who specialized in this field.

He opened a doctor’s office in Kansas, claimed to be an expert on male sexuality, and began selling colored water which he injected clients with. He promised that they would turn into lions in the den. Which rarely, if ever, happened, but there were still enough loyal men to keep the business going.

Brinkley must have been extremely charismatic and tireless in his promotion. And despite selling a placebo, he gained a reputation for being able to convince the confirmation brother of all men to accept him completely.

Brinkley also performed the general duties of a doctor, was beloved by townspeople and was thought to be doing well in resisting treatment when the Spanish flu hit.

How about goat testicles?

But back to the penis.

One day in 1918, a patient knocked on Brinkley’s door and said the partner hadn’t progressed for a long time. Brinkely jokingly replied that it would make a difference if you could have goat testicles, but goats were said to have a huge sex drive.

And the more Brinkley thought about it, the better the idea seemed to him. Why not transplant a goat testicle into a man’s scrotum?

There were lots of goats.

Brinkley began performing the procedures, which immediately became extremely popular, and before quitting, he was performing between 40 and 100 a week. He took 750 dollars for each operation, which in today’s value is almost two million ISK, so the profit was fabulous.

Brinkley contracted with a number of goat breeders to keep a constant supply of testicles available, and patients were asked to scan the goat box to select a donor. It was also welcome to bring your own goat, if you wanted.

Flatulence, cancer and dementia

The Kansas town where Brinkley lived, Milford, had a small hospital that attracted thousands of men from all over the United States and greatly increased the finances of the townspeople who provided all kinds of services to patients.

Brinkley even bought a radio station, where he advertised his services aloud and boasted that 95% of patients were now insatiable. It would go on to become the fourth largest radio station in the United States in one season.

He said the men who had suffered from decades of impotence started fathering children with great enthusiasm after undergoing surgery. Which can be considered doubtful. But the media ate every word, and among others, the editor of the major LA Times newspaper swung into action. Brinkley knew how to advertise and there was a waiting list for surgery.

The media devoured every word.

As popularity grew, Brinkley added that the procedure would not only keep the ally north, but it would also cure a variety of other ailments, including flatulence, cancer and dementia.

Among other things, Brinkley went to Hollywood, where he planted goat testicles in most of the big screen stars, as well as other wealthy people. He returned to Kansas with over 100 million Icelandic ISK in present value.

Full cut in dirty operating rooms

The procedure was simple. Brinkley put the men to sleep, made a hole in their scrotums, inserted the goat’s testicles, and sealed it off.

In the vast majority of cases the tissue is gone, like any other foreign body the body removes, but some patients have developed serious infections and there have been cases where people have died. Not only did Brinkley have no idea what he was doing, the operation was completely botched, but the operating rooms were very unsanitary, his staff were uneducated, and Brinkley was mostly drunk while cutting the male scrotum.

The staff had no education and the hygiene was very poor.

But the Hollywood men weren’t as pleased as the Kansas men and sued Brinkley. The state of California attempted to extradite Brinkley in 1923, but Kansas refused. However, the procedure’s popularity quickly waned after complaints, and in 1930, when it was discovered that Brinkley had falsified more than 40 death certificates of patients who had died while receiving goat testicles, authorities had had enough. and closed the shop. A license to operate a radio station was also taken out at Brinkley.

However, he never had to be held accountable for anything by the public sector.

Brinkley never gave up trying to get his medical license back.
Unsuccessful litigation

Brinkley will try his hand at politics without success. In 1939, he sued Kansas health authorities and demanded that his medical license be reinstated. This was a big mistake because not only did he strongly deny it, but the litigation caused hundreds of people to take legal action against Brinkley and Brinkley was ordered to pay approximately 450 million Icelandic ISK in damages and interests.

John R. Brinkely was forced to declare bankruptcy and died penniless of a heart attack three years later.
