Deceased actor Alexei Kuznetsov. In the cinema, he is remembered for the role of Buckingham in the film “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers”

At the age of 83, actor of the Vakhtangov Theater Alexei Kuznetsov died. He worked for many years at the Vakhtangov Theater, and his most memorable film work was the role of the Duke of Buckingham in the film “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers”. Information about the death of the actor appeared Wednesday on the site of the Vakhtangov Theater.

“For more than half a century, Alexey Glebovich served at the Vakhtangov Theater. A smart and intelligent performer with a subtle sense of humor; a director who knows how to work in depth and in detail with the actors; an experienced teacher with impeccable literary taste,” the obituary on the theater’s website reads.

Alexey Glebovich Kuznetsov was born on May 14, 1941. In 1964 he graduated from the Shchukin Theater School. The same year, he was accepted into the theater troupe. Vakhtangov, where he worked for over 55 years. He had good vocal abilities, played the guitar perfectly.

He made his film debut in 1954 in the film “Abitur Certificate”, in total he played more than 55 film roles. He played the main role in the film “Green Light”, played Kirsanov Sr. in “Fathers and Sons”, but a wide range of viewers might remember Alexei Kuznetsov as the Duke of Buckingham in the film by Georgy Yungvald-Khilkevich “D “Artagnan and the Three Musketeers”. Yungvald-Khilkevich described his work in this film as follows: “To the credit of Alexei Kuznetsov, it should be noted that it turned out to be a wonderful Buckingham. It’s one of my favorite looks.”

At the Vakhtangov Theater, Alexei Kuznetsov performed in more than 50 performances. He also worked as a director – he directed the vaudeville Two Hours in Paris with One Intermission, as well as the play The Careless Actress.

“Since 1967, Alexey Kuznetsov has taught at his native school Shchukin, since 1995 he has worked in the stage speech department, imparting the ability to speak to students. I did a lot of dubbing, recorded audio books,” the post on the Vakhtangov Theater website reads.

The actor’s cause of death and burial location have yet to be released.
