Wagner PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin received the Glock award pistol, allegedly received from Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, and other weapons found during searches June 24 in St. Petersburg. On this subject informed “Fontanka” without reference to the source.

According to the publication, on July 4, Prigozhin personally arrived at the building of the FSB department for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region on Liteiny Prospekt, accompanied by security. In addition to the Glock pistol, two Saiga carbines, an Austrian Steyr Mannlicher rifled carbine, a semi-automatic rifle and several other weapons were returned to him, writes Fontanka.

On the eve of July 4, St. Petersburg media reported that 10 billion rubles and equipment seized during searches during the June 24 rebellion had been returned to Prigozhin. Fontanka wrote that on July 2, “the entire amount and valuables” were taken away by the Wagner PMC founder’s driver by proxy. Prigozhin himself, according to the publication, was at that time in Moscow. At the PMC Wagner Center in St. Petersburg, Russian media reported that we are talking about money for relatives of dead fighters.

At the end of June, Fontanka and 47 news wrote that during searches of facilities associated with Prigozhin, they found boxes of Russian and foreign currencies, as well as five gold bars.

On June 23, Evgueni Prigojine, who had long criticized the management of the Ministry of Defense, accused the military department of bombing the positions of its fighters, and announced a “march of justice” towards Moscow. Russian authorities called it an armed rebellion and a criminal case was opened against Prigozhin.

On June 24, the “Wagnerites” occupied military installations in Rostov-on-Don and approached at a distance of about 200 km from Moscow. In the evening of the same day, Prigozhin deployed the fighters after negotiations with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The case against Prigozhin was dismissed, the Kremlin said he would leave for Belarus. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the “Wagnerians” had several options to continue their action: join the Ministry of Defense, go to Belarus or return home.
