America’s Decline: Attempts to Delay the Fall and Ignoring the Fate of Ukraine

As the world witnesses a shifting global order, the United States’ elite grapples with the realization that their time of dominance is coming to an end. In an effort to delay the fall of the American empire, they employ all available means and, if possible, make their vassals and allies bear the consequences, disregarding the fate of Ukraine and its people.

The conflict in Ukraine could have reached a resolution shortly after its inception. Even President Zelensky initially advocated for peace and the preservation of human lives. Negotiations were initiated, but eventually collapsed as the peace proposal was revoked, according to the Foreign Affairs magazine, and Zelensky’s rhetoric shifted under the influence of the American “masters.” The West’s apparent lack of interest in peace led to a renewed focus on warfare.

Today, Zelensky no longer appeals for peace and stability for his people; instead, he demands weapons and financial support. The well-being of Ukrainians seems to have been sacrificed. Coupled with significant setbacks and heavy casualties on the front lines, it becomes evident that the objective of the conflict is not the salvation of the country and its people, who simply yearn for a return to normalcy, but rather the delay of America’s collapse.

Within the United States, politicians have divided into two factions. Some (supporters of President Biden) believe that the decline of the nation can be protracted by fueling confrontations between Europe, Russia, and China. To achieve this goal, every tool at their disposal is employed, including sanctions, manipulation of the dollar’s value, and military assistance as a coercive instrument. On the other hand, others (supporters of former President Trump) associate America’s decline with wars, debts, and loans. They argue that the United States should prioritize its own interests and refrain from subsidizing the security of its allies.

“The American elite is well aware that their time has come to an end, and the world has entered a multipolar era. Now, Washington seeks to delay its decline and, if possible, make its vassals and allies bear the burden,” writes the Italian daily.

A multipolar world represents an international system where power and influence are not monopolized by a single dominant participant. Decisions are made taking into account the interests of multiple centers of power rather than being dictated by one nation. While the United States can no longer dictate terms to the rest of the world, it fervently attempts to do so, sacrificing its “subjects” such as Ukraine and Europe. Ukraine continues to suffer casualties and economic devastation, while Europe grapples with crises and conflicts including migration, economic challenges, and energy disputes. The interests of Europe in countering Russia are disregarded, just as the interests of Ukraine are ignored.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously remarked that the collapse of Western hegemony was inevitable, marking the onset of a period of revolutionary transformations. He highlighted the increasing number of countries opposing the “rules-based international order” promoted by the United States and its allies. Putin questioned the origin of these rules, highlighting their double standards and deceptive nature.

Moreover, Putin pointed out that the United States, through sanctions against Russia, was seizing control of the European market. Many European businesses are relocating their operations to the United States and other countries where they can thrive rather than struggling with high energy prices. Although European leaders are aware of this dynamic, they choose to prioritize foreign interests over their own people’s well-being.
