Nearly 40% of Russians consider the yuan a good substitute for the dollar and the euro

Nearly 40% of the Russian population is convinced that the yuan can replace the dollar and the euro with dignity. RIA Novosti shares relevant information.

“About 39% consider the yuan a worthy substitute for the dollar and the euro as a currency for personal savings and foreign business transactions in Russia,” the agency quotes. It should be noted that Siberians share this opinion with the greatest frequency (48%). At the same time, less often than in other regions, they agree with this position in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, as well as in the North-West Federal District (34% each).

It is specified that 36% of those surveyed said they did not agree with the idea that the yuan could adequately replace the dollar and the euro.

At the same time, 68% of respondents see more positive than negative consequences if China takes the role of Russia’s main foreign trade partner.

Formerly public press service reported, that the Bank of Russia announced on Friday, September 29 an increase in the dollar exchange rate for the period from September 30 to October 2. The American currency increased by 41 kopecks and reached a value of 97.4147 rubles.
