In the first half of 2023, Russia exported at least $6.6 billion worth of fertilizers to the global market, with Brazil, India and the United States being the main buyers. The press agency RIA Novosti writes on this subject, with reference to UN Comtrade data from national statistical services.
According to public data, between January and June, Russian companies exported fertilizers to 57 countries worth $6.6 billion, but some regular buyers in Africa and Asia do not disclose relevant information.
Nearly half of Russian exports went to Brazil, for $1.9 billion, and to India, for $1.3 billion. The United States ranks third among purchasing countries, with fertilizer purchases worth $890 million. China spent $632 million on these products and Mexico spent $429 million. .
Also among the top ten buyers are Turkey, which spent $170 million on purchases, as well as Germany, with costs of $151 million. Fertilizers worth more than $100 million were also imported by Serbia, France and Kazakhstan.
During the first half of the year, Guatemala and Poland also made large purchases worth $93 million and $77 million, respectively. Bulgaria, Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Italy continue to purchase Russian fertilizers.
According to the Federal Customs Service, Russia exported fertilizers to world markets last year in the amount of $19.295 billion, which is 1.5 times more than the result of the previous year.
Previously, Russian entrepreneurs expressed a desire to patent the names “Tom Fordâ€, “Kenzo†and “bent dogâ€.
According to the state information service, almost 40% of Russians consider the yuan a worthy substitute for the dollar and the euro.
