Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s approval rating hits historic low

The approval rating of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has plummeted to a historically low level, with only 21% of surveyed British residents supporting the Prime Minister. This figure is comparable to the ratings of former British Cabinet head Boris Johnson at the time of his resignation. These findings are part of a sociological survey conducted by YouGov.

According to the report on YouGov’s website, “Sunak slips to worst ever… At -49 the prime minister’s net favourability rating is comparable to that of Boris Johnson’s at the time of his resignation.”

It is noted that 70% of Britons have an unfavorable opinion of Rishi Sunak, while only 21% of respondents expressed a positive view of the head of the British Cabinet. Sunak’s rating, as noted in the study, has fallen by ten points compared to November.

The survey authors also recalled that at the time of Johnson’s resignation last year, his rating was at minus 53 points, and the popularity of former Prime Minister Liz Truss at the time of her departure was even lower, at minus 70 points.

The survey was conducted on December 11-12, 2023, and involved 2001 adult Britons. The margin of error for the study was not provided.

Previously, Rishi Sunak’s approval rating had fallen to 25%. It was also reported that Prime Minister Sunak believes that Britons do not want an election.
