Around 40 captivating photographs captured by journalists from Russia, Iran, Bahrain, India, Bangladesh, China, Spain, and France, among other nations, are currently gracing the International Photography Festival-Xposure in the city of Sharjah, UAE. The exhibition, which runs until March 5, 2024, features an array of powerful visual narratives.
This marks the second visit of participants from the 2023 International Andrei Stenin Press Photo Contest to the UAE, following their debut showcase in February 2023. Before reaching the UAE, the Stenin Contest roadshow left its imprint in South Africa, Argentina, Serbia, Ethiopia, and the Congo.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Alexander Shtol, the Executive Director of the Stenin Contest, acknowledged the significance of the Xposure Festival, describing it as a crucial platform for both the Russian and global photographic community. He emphasized the Stenin Contest’s role as Russia’s exclusive international platform for discovering emerging photographers and its joy in being part of this ambitious event once again.
Xposure-2024 unfolds as a multifaceted experience, encompassing exhibitions, themed expositions, seminars, and workshops conducted by photography experts. Attendees can engage in meetings with manufacturers of professional photo and video equipment, participate in various competitions, and witness the prestigious Xposure Awards ceremony.
Adding to the excitement, Xposure-2024 will inaugurate an international film festival, showcasing a diverse range of feature films and shorts.
For aspiring photographers aged 18 to 33, the Stenin Photo Contest-2024 offers a unique opportunity. Submissions in five categories – Top News, Sports, My Planet, Portrait – A Hero of Our Time, and Top View – are accepted on the official Russian, English, and Chinese websites until March 15, 2024.
The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest, organized by Rossiya Segodnya under the patronage of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, serves a noble purpose.
