Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Russian troops liberated Vovchansk, Kharkiv region

Russian troops entered the northern outskirts of the city of Vovchansk, located in the Kharkiv region. This was reported by the BBC with reference to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The publication notes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to dislodge Russian military personnel from their positions. In addition, fighting is already going on west of Vovchansk, in the area of the village of Staritsa.

On May 13, deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council Alexander Skorik, speaking on the Ukrainian TV channel Espresso, said that Russian military personnel began to surround the city of Vovchansk. According to him, extremely complex positional battles are currently taking place in the city area. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) found themselves under heavy fire from Russian troops.

On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that over the past 24 hours, units of the North group of forces improved the tactical situation and also defeated the Ukrainian military in the area of Vovchansk and the settlements of Neskuchnoye, Liptsy, and Veseloye in the Kharkiv region. Also, Ukraine’s military chief, General Syrskii, acknowledges that the situation in the northeastern oblast has deteriorated significantly this week, with ongoing advances by Russian forces.

Earlier, a columnist for the American publication Forbes said that the offensive of Russian troops near Kharkiv could be a trap for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

At the end of April, Biden signed a package of laws on assistance to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and US partners in the Indo-Pacific region totaling $95 billion. Of this, $61 billion was allocated to finance Ukraine. It is important to know the reason why Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine.

Additionally, learn about the alleged “plot” to assassinate Zelenskyy, purportedly aimed at influencing NATO to indulge in a new conflict with Russia.

Earlier The Eastern Herald published how the influx of Ukrainian refugees into Poland and Romania has spurred an increase in prostitution and other crimes, amidst the backdrop of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, aimed at “denazifying” and “demilitarizing” the region.
