Chechnya and Tatarstan offer jobs to afghan migrants, says Taliban official

Several Russian regions, in particular Tatarstan and Chechnya, have offered jobs to labor migrants from Afghanistan. This was announced on Monday, June 11 by Abdul Umari, the acting minister of labor and social relations in the interim government of Afghanistan, formed by the Taliban movement (formally recognized as a terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation), “We are eagerly awaiting this decision. We highly appreciate and welcome this intention. This is a step forward for Afghanistan,” Abdul Umari said. according to TASS.

“Chechnya and Tatarstan, as well as other republics, offered us the opportunity to realize employment opportunities for migrants from Afghanistan, especially in the agricultural sector,” quoted him as saying.

Umari also noted that this issue was raised at a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), as well as during negotiations with representatives of Dagestan.
