“Modi government is covering up the NEET scam” says President of Indian National Congress

The Congress party of India has once again surrounded the Modi government with crucial questions regarding the NEET exam scam. The Congress stated that the Modi government is trying to cover up the NEET scam and is plunging the future of 24 lakh children into darkness. While maintaining its demands, the Congress said that an independent forensic investigation should be conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Court into this scam, and all information related to the NEET exam should be made public, similar to electoral bonds.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge posted on Twitter questioning, stating that the Modi government has started the cover-up of the NEET scam through the Education Minister and NTA. If there was no paper leak in NEET, why were 13 accused arrested in Bihar due to the paper leak? Why did the Economic Offenses Unit of the Patna Police not expose the racket involved in the payment of 30-50 lakh rupees in exchange for papers, including one person running a coaching center, one teacher, and another person in Gujarat’s Godhra who has disclosed more than 12 crores between the accused?

If there was no paper leak in NEET, why were these arrests made? What conclusions can be drawn from this? Is the Modi government continuing to deceive the people or has it changed its stance?

Kharge said, “The Modi government has throttled the aspirations of 24 lakh youths. Every year, around 24 lakh youths take the NEET exam to become doctors, working day and night for approximately one lakh medical seats. Among these seats, about 55 thousand are in government colleges where there are reservations for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories. This time, the Modi government has manipulated the rankings and scores using the NTA to increase the cutoffs of reserved seats. It appears that to deprive deserving students of government admissions at concessional rates, grace marks, paper leaks, and manipulation have been played.”

Meanwhile, speaking at a press conference at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, Media and Publicity Department Chairman Pawan Khera said that through the NEET exam, the future of 24 lakh children in the country has been jeopardized. In the last eight years, only seven students had achieved full marks. But this year, 67 students have scored full marks. The education minister has no response to this. When some people were caught in Bihar by the police for paper leaks and a similar incident happened in Godhra, then this scam came to light.

Khera said, “The National Testing Agency (NTA) tried its best to cover up in court, saying that we gave grace marks to 1563 children due to time loss and quoted a judgment of the Supreme Court. While it is clearly written in the same judgment that they do not fall into this category of engineering and medical. They cannot give grace marks on time loss. Now think about how far this government can stoop to cover up. The future of 24 lakh children can be thrown into darkness. He said, the result of the NEET exam on 14th June was declared instead of the 4th June, election results. Thinking that everyone will be busy in the results of all elections and there will be no big controversy. Now according to the decision of the Supreme Court, grace marks have been removed, but the education minister is not answering the questions of 24 lakh children. The Congress has made several demands regarding the NEET scam.

Khera said, “In today’s government, the Prime Minister, Education Minister, Home Minister, do not want to be accountable. Congress demand that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should break his silence on this issue. Names of more than 580 students who score more than average should be released on the examination centers of NEET. The marks of NEET topper should be matched with the marks of the 12th class of the board examination. The video recording of all those examination centers where more than average marks are the examinees should also be released. The list of all the children who took advantage of the windows opened for two days and changed their examination centers should be released.

Khera said, “In the way detailed information of electoral bonds was made public, in the same way all the information related to NEET examination should be kept on public platforms. So that no question remains in anyone’s mind, because this is a question of the future of 24 lakh children.”
