Russian ministry of internal affairs puts tv presenter Tatyana Lazareva on wanted list

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put TV presenter and actress Tatyana Lazareva on the wanted list (included in the register of citizens – foreign agents of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation). The corresponding entry appeared in the department’s database, according to RFE/RL.

“Tatyana Yuryevna Lazareva, July 21, 1966. Wanted under an article of the Criminal Code,” the entry says. It is not specified under what specific article the artist is wanted.

In May, the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a linguistic assessment of Lazareva’s statements made during an interview, following an investigation launched by the prosecutor’s office at the request of the head of the State Duma Culture Committee, Elena Yampolskaya.

According to the deputy, the actress “cynically commented on the terrorist drone attacks carried out by the criminal Kyiv regime” on Russian cities. Yampolskaya noted that such statements fall under the article on justification of terrorism. However, an inspection carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not reveal any violations of the law.

Tatyana Lazareva was included in the register of citizens – foreign agents at the end of July 2022. In February of the same year, she opposed the special military operation and left Russia for Spain.
