By order of the Prosecutor General dated June 21, 2024, the duties of Dmitry Verbitsky were assigned to other deputies, the report says.
On June 18, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yaroslav Zhelezniak said that the parliament had summoned the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andrey Kostin to a meeting in connection with information that appeared in the media about the illegally acquired property of Dmitry Verbitsky’s entourage.
According to the Ukrainian service of Radio Liberty (the organization is included in the list of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice and is considered undesirable), the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) opened a criminal case in connection with information about Verbitsky’s property. The NAPC did not comment on this information.
On June 20, it was reported that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy was disappointed that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken paid special attention to corruption in Ukraine and pointed out this problem to Kyiv.
