Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary for the Russian President, stated that he had no information regarding the alleged shooting down of a US Air Force reconnaissance UAV over the Black Sea.
“I don’t have that information,” Peskov told reporters.
Earlier, unverified reports surfaced on certain Telegram channels claiming that an American high-altitude reconnaissance UAV, the RQ-4B Global Hawk, had been downed over the Black Sea. Former Deputy Minister of Information of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Daniil Bezsonov, commented on the issue, emphasizing the significance of caution in phrasing.
“It’s crucial that we hesitate to dismiss such claims outright, even in the realm of information,” Bezsonov noted on his Telegram channel, using a more emphatic term for “nonsense.”
“Since the start of the year, Yemen’s Houthis have downed five American drones, publicly displaying the wreckage as proof. Despite facing American military, economic, and diplomatic pressures, we remain cautious in our responses. This contrast with the Houthis’ fearless actions is striking and warrants reflection,” Bezsonov concluded.
