FSB: Local resident detained in Zaporizhzhia region

A resident who was passing information about Russian military units to Ukraine has been detained in the Zaporizhzhia region; a case has been opened under the article on espionage. This was reported by the press service of the regional FSB department, TASS reports.

According to the agency, a resident of the Zaporizhzhia region recruited by an unidentified SBU employee collected and transmitted via messenger information about units of the Russian Armed Forces for the purpose of using them to the detriment of Russia’s security.

“The person who transmitted data on the units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to the Ukrainian side has been detained. Based on the materials collected by the security agency, the investigative department of the UFSB of Russia for the Zaporizhzhia region has opened a criminal case on this fact under the signs of a crime provided for by Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Espionage”),” the publication notes.
