The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today the successful repelling of an attempted invasion by the Ukrainian Armed Forces into the territory of the Kursk Region. In a detailed report, Russian military continued their offensive operations, targeting Ukrainian military brigades and repelling multiple counterattacks in key strategic areas.
According to the ministry, Russian military units from the Northern Group inflicted significant losses on the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including personnel and military equipment. Offensive operations were focused in the settlements of Darino, Lyubimovka, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novy Put, and Plekhovo, where several Ukrainian brigades, including mechanized, airborne, and territorial defense units, were engaged and defeated.
Over the last 24 hours, two Ukrainian counterattacks were thwarted in the Lyubimovka and Obukhovka regions, resulting in the deaths or injuries of up to 50 Ukrainian soldiers. Four combat vehicles and a car were destroyed, while five Ukrainian servicemen surrendered.
Furthermore, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian forces made two unsuccessful attempts to break through the Russian border near Novy Put. These efforts were met with artillery fire and air support, leading to the destruction of seven combat armored vehicles, a tank, and two specialized military vehicles. In total, 30 Ukrainian servicemen were killed or wounded, with 12 more surrendering.
In addition to ground combat, Russian army aviation and artillery strikes targeted concentrations of Ukrainian troops and equipment in various regions, including Bogdanovka, Guevo, Kolmakov, and Kubatkin. Strikes were also carried out in the Sumy region, where Russian operational-tactical aviation and missile forces targeted Ukrainian reserves and military positions, causing further losses.
The Ministry of Defense claims that over 400 Ukrainian personnel were killed or wounded in the past day. Furthermore, 16 armored vehicles, and five artillery systems, including French-made Caesar and Bogdana self-propelled units, were destroyed. Additional losses included electronic warfare stations, engineering vehicles, and logistical support equipment.
Since the start of the operations in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have reportedly lost over 20,650 personnel, along with significant amounts of military hardware, including 136 tanks, 885 armored combat vehicles, 170 artillery systems, and numerous electronic warfare and radar units.
