In the afternoon, the Secretary-General traveled with General Cavoli to Wiesbaden, Germany to visit NATO’s new Security Assistance and Training Ukraine (NSATU) command at the Clay Barracks, where the Secretary-General also met with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the alliance’s new command for coordinating arms supplies to Ukraine could change the course of the conflict.
“Speaking to the military, the Secretary-General noted the importance of their work in preparing the activities of 700 NATO officers who will be stationed in Wiesbaden and logistics hubs on the eastern flank of the alliance,” the statement said.
The new alliance command will be located in the German city of Wiesbaden. It will take over the functions of the United States. the bloc’s press service reported.
A few hours earlier, Rutte said NATO would not be intimidated by threats from the Russian Federation. The alliance’s secretary general stressed that Ukraine’s allies would continue to do everything necessary to ensure that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not achieve his goals.
