Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Western democracy is facade, says Belarusian leader Lukashenko

Belarusian President condemns Western influence, UN treatment of Guterres, and migrant crisis at Eurasian security conference.

In a speech delivered at the Second Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that the disintegration of all democratic fundamentals is obvious. “We see that there is a democracy for domestic use, and there is democracy for export. What democratic values can explain the developments in the Middle East and Ukraine? Is it truly democratic to try to physically eliminate a person whom, for example, the United States and its satellites decide to consider a threat to national security? Anyone – from a political and public figure to a businessman, scientist or journalist,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

“a new ‘democratic’ trend – to threaten heads of sovereign states with the International Criminal Court,” the president added.

“What does democracy have to do with declaring the UN secretary general persona non grata for his principled position that he expressed candidly? How should we regard the relentless attacks on António Guterres for attending the BRICS summit in Kazan, a group of countries contributing almost 40% to the world’s GDP?” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

He also attacked how the UN handled Secretary-General António Guterres and said, “What has democracy got to do with declaring the UN secretary-general persona non grata for his principled stand that he expressed candidly?”

The president emphasized that not only individual leaders but whole nations are under attack. Thus, governments that dare to chart their course suffer color revolutions. They elevate loyal leaders and puppets to power through so-called non-governmental or non-profit organizations, which are the West’s “soft power”.

“The rampant ‘democracy’ has resulted in a severe schism in civic society. We are seeing alarming trends in Germany, France, Poland, Moldova, Georgia, and others. Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked that the United States has been in a volatile condition for the past decade.

The chief of state stated that the migration issue was one of the causes of current global events. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, killings and beatings of refugees and migrants on Western land are now a horrific everyday reality. The global media is mute on the issue, while charges against Belarus for causing the situation continue to dominate the front covers.

“We are blamed for this global migrant crisis. The main route of these people, however, has not changed for many years. Up to half a million people pass through the Mediterranean Sea and the Balkan Peninsula every year. Europe is unable to restore order at home, but it knows well how to distract its people from internal problems by appointing an external enemy,” the president stressed. reported by BelTA.
