North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met in Moscow for a strategic dialogue meeting. In a statement made by Pyongyang after the meeting, it was stated that Russia fully supports the security measures taken by North Korea against the policies of the US and its allies in the region.
The meeting, which took place on November 1, showed that the two countries intend to deepen their relations within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement signed at the North Korea-Russia summit in June.
In a statement made by North Korea’s official media outlets, it was stated that relations were developing at a “strategic level.”

The statement said that Russia “fully supports” the measures taken by the North Korean government to deter the aggressive policies of the United States and its allies and to ensure regional peace and stability. “The strategic dialogue meeting has made an important contribution to the comprehensive development of bilateral relations in line with the comprehensive strategic partnership between North Korea and Russia.” It was emphasized that Choe and Lavron agreed to hold more dialogue meetings, including at the ministerial level, according to ORF.
According to Reuters, The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement signed between North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin last June drew attention with its articles including military-technical cooperation and mutual security commitments. In his statement at the signing ceremony of the agreement, Putin stated that Russia was evaluating steps to develop cooperation with North Korea within the scope of the agreement.
