More than 1,000 companies from 47 countries and regions are participating in this year’s fair. It was stated that the introduction of the J-35-A brings China one step closer to its goal of catching up with the US in terms of air power.
China has once again demonstrated its air power with its new 5th generation fighter jet, the “J35-A”. The aircraft made its first demonstration flight at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition Airshow China. More than 1,000 companies from 47 countries and regions participated in this year’s fair. Developed by the Aviation Industries Corporation of China (AVIC), the J35-A stands out with its stealth aircraft features that can evade radars and have high maneuverability.
In today’s demonstration flight, the J35-A attracted great attention from participants by demonstrating its maneuverability with deep dives and high climbs. The aircraft was introduced as a model designed to compete with the US’s F-35 fighter jets. The J35-A has the distinction of being China’s second-generation jet developed after the J-20 fighter jets.
The J35-A will enter service in line with China’s “J-20” stealth fighter jets, which were developed as a counterpart to the US’s F-22 fighter jets. When China adds these aircraft to its inventory, it will become the second country after the US to have two separate stealth aircraft models.
This year’s Airshow China showcased China’s military and civil aviation developments and cutting-edge weapon systems. While the J-35-A and J-20 aircraft were the focus of the show, 47 countries and more than 1,000 companies participating in the show received information on the world’s most advanced aircraft and defense systems.
According to NHK, Airshow China, a biennial aviation exhibition, opened in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, on Tuesday. The event featured more than 130 aircraft, including military planes, drones, as well as civilian airplanes.
