The UK has announced that it will provide £7.5m of additional military aid to Ukraine for new attacks and surveillance drones.
British Defence Secretary John Healey made a statement to the British Parliament on the 1000th day of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
Minister Healey announced that funding had been made available to Ukraine for new attack and surveillance drones, adding that this assistance would be provided through a drone coalition led by his country and Latvia, and would be drawn from an annual £3 billion funding pool, According to Indipendent.
Today, the Government is announcing further military support of £7.5 million of funding for new attack and surveillance drones, which will be invested through the drone coalition led by the UK and Latvia and drawn from the £3bn annual funding pool. This is on top of the £120m of funding announced by the Prime Minister last month for Ukraine’s Navy and maritime capabilities which will fund uncrewed surface vessels, and maritime ISR drones, according to UKRINFORM.
In a written statement from the UK Ministry of Defence, it was reported that military support for Ukraine would be expanded and that in this context, 7.5 million pounds would be given to this country for new attack and surveillance drones.
The statement noted that this military aid will provide significant support to the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against Russia.
