The United States has vetoed a UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution for the fourth time, demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of prisoners, and the prevention of deaths from starvation.

The 15-member UNSC voted on a draft resolution submitted by the 10 elected members: Algeria, Ecuador, Guyana, Malta, Mozambique, South Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia and Switzerland. The United States vetoed the draft resolution. The other 14 members voted “yes” to the resolution.
