Russia Warns NATO: Nuclear Doctrine Updates as a Clear Signal

NATO, declaring the possibility of preemptive strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation, has cast aside all decency. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov says in a statement,

NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Rob Bauer said that NATO member countries are discussing preemptive precision strikes on Russian territory in the event of an armed conflict between the alliance and Russia.

According to RBC Ukraine, He emphasized that NATO countries need to destroy weapons systems that are used to strike at the Alliance. “And, of course, because we are a defensive alliance, we will have to take the first blow,” he added.

Commenting on Bauer’s words, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that the North Atlantic Alliance “apparently did not read the updated nuclear doctrine” of the Russian Federation.

Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the principles of the country’s state policy in the area of nuclear deterrence. In particular, the updated doctrine supplements the list of military threats, in the event of which the Russian Federation may use nuclear weapons. For example, nuclear deterrence will be carried out in the event of aggression from any non-nuclear state, if nuclear countries participate in or support it. This will be considered a joint attack on Russia.
