Gysi said that The West must offer Putin a ceasefire with a suspension of arms supplies and the start of peace talks.

On June 14, at a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that in order to begin Russian-Ukrainian peace talks, Kyiv must withdraw its troops from the territories of the DPR, LPR, and the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. The Russian leader emphasized that military actions will cease immediately after the Ukrainian side agrees to this condition.
