Foreign Minister Fidan will attend the 31st Ministerial Council Meeting of the OSCE, of which Türkiye is among the founding members, to be held in Valetta on 5-6 December 2024, hosted by Malta, the Chairman-in-Office.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan will attend the 31st Ministerial Council Meeting of the OSCE, of which Türkiye is among the founding members, to be held in Valetta on 5-6 December 2024, hosted by Malta, the Chairman-in-Office.
OSCE Asian and Mediterranean Cooperation Partners are also expected to attend the meeting.
The meeting is expected to assess the security situation in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian regions, address current challenges, and exchange views on issues on the OSCE’s agenda and functioning.
Foreign Minister Fidan is also expected to address the first General Session of the meeting to be held on December 5.
Minister Fidan is expected to emphasize that the OSCE is the most comprehensive platform for security and cooperation in Europe and that the organization should remain an element of the European security architecture, and to underline Türkiye’s support for this. Fidan is also expected to emphasize Türkiye’s support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and the priority it gives to diplomacy and dialogue to ensure a just and lasting peace. In this context, Fidan is also expected to draw attention to the importance of establishing lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
