US President Biden has signed a temporary budget bill, ending the formal government shutdown, the White House website reported.
The publication notes that the law provides funding for US federal agencies until March 14, 2025.
Earlier, it was reported that the US Senate had passed a bill to extend government funding.
The United States government has suspended its work because the American Senate failed to pass the temporary budget on time. However, the suspension is formal because the government is on holiday.
“Trying to jam a debt ceiling suspension into the legislation at the 11th hour was not sustainable,” House Democratic minority leader Hakeem Jeffries said ahead of the vote, according to BBC, He later praised the bill’s passage, saying: “House Democrats have successfully stopped the billionaire boys club.”
On December 21, members of the House of Representatives voted to extend funding for the United States government, thereby avoiding a shutdown. The vote was positive a few hours before the official announcement of the shutdown: 366 members of Congress voted “for” and 34 “against.”
Earlier, Musk called the draft temporary budget of the United States a crime.
