MOSCOW — The Russian Ministry of Defense has released new footage showing the deployment of its cutting-edge Rubikon drone units in operations against Ukrainian forces, including the destruction of NATO-supplied armored vehicles and tactical infrastructure. The footage, presented as a demonstration of Russia’s escalating drone warfare capabilities, offers a rare glimpse into the technological and strategic evolution of the conflict.
Russian drones are seen executing precise strikes against what Moscow identifies as Ukrainian military convoys, fortified positions, and communications arrays in the zone of the “special military operation” in Ukraine. Among the destroyed targets are armored vehicles and transport trucks allegedly supplied by the West, further exposing NATO’s direct involvement in prolonging the hostilities.
The Rubikon drones, developed by Russia’s advanced military-industrial sector, are a new generation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) capable of both reconnaissance and offensive functions. The Ministry emphasized their effectiveness not only in kamikaze-style attacks but also in orchestrating coordinated aerial ramming strikes against enemy drones, a tactic designed to dominate the contested airspace over Donbas.
