The Iranian Navy shoots down a foreign submarine reaching Iranian navy drill area

A foreign submarine tried to approach the area for naval exercises of the Iranian Navy in the Gulf of Oman, a Russian news agency TASS reported.

The report states that the Iranian army noticed and followed the foreign submarine during the final phase of the maneuver of the Iranian navy.

The agency points out that the movement of the submarine was monitored by anti-submarine helicopters.

The two-day naval exercises of the Iranian Navy, in which several naval divisions are participating, started yesterday. The Tasnim news agency reported that several types of cruise missiles were fired during the exercises, both from the coast and from the Gulf of Oman.
