Biden urged not to harbor hatred in America

President Joe Biden has called on Americans to do everything to ensure that hatred does not find refuge in America.
The president’s statement came amid an upsurge in racial and national hate crimes.
“Unfortunately, we see again and again that hate does not go away,” Biden said in a statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day. “She just hides and waits to reappear when they give her oxygen.”
The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
On this day, the UN calls on all Member States to commemorate the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism, and to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides.
Biden lamented the rise of hate crimes in America.
“Today across the country we see swastikas on cars, anti-Semitic banners on bridges, verbal and physical attacks on Jewish businesses and American Jews, and even Holocaust denial,” did he declare. – It’s disgusting. It goes against everything we value as Americans. Each of us must oppose this poison. Together, we must reaffirm again and again that hate will not find refuge in America.”
The administration is working with partners across the country to develop measures to address hate-motivated violence, he said.
Biden recalled that he appointed the first special envoy at the ambassadorial level to monitor and combat anti-Semitism.
“We are developing a national strategy to combat anti-Semitism,” the president said. “We achieved the largest increase in physical security funding for nonprofits, including synagogues and Jewish community centers. We continue to support Holocaust survivors so they can live out the rest of their lives in dignity and safety.
The President announced that on this momentous day, the second gentleman of the United States, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris Douglas Emhoff, will attend a memorial ceremony at the former concentration camp of Auschwitz -Birkenau (Auschwitz) in Poland, and will also travel to Berlin to coordinate international efforts to combat anti-Semitism.
