February 27, 2023, 08:16 – Public Information Service – TEH – The Japanese government is considering the need to purchase up to 400 American Tomahawk cruise missiles. This was published by Japanese newspaper Kyodo.
So, journalists recalled that in mid-February Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that Tokyo was going to buy American Tomahawk missiles of the “latest modification”.
Next, Kishida pointed out that the upgraded cruise missiles will have the ability to evade interception. According to him, Japan needs missiles whose range could exceed the range of the means of attack of a hypothetical enemy.
At the same time, it is noteworthy that during this speech Kishida did not disclose how many missiles it is planned to purchase.
Earlier, the Public News Service reported that the British Ministry of Defense has signed a contract with the Supacat-Babcock alliance, under which 70 Jackal High Mobility Transporter vehicles (HMT 400 series) will be delivered to the army.
