The former commander of the US Army in Europe, General Ben Hodges, presented his vision of the invasion of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Crimean peninsula. In his opinion, the Ukrainian army should strike the civilian and military infrastructure of the Russian region for a while, and then use the ground forces.
The US military showed a map with a detailed plan of the Ukrainian army’s impending attack. And although this document is said to be approximate, there is something to pay attention to.
According to Hodges, the Ukrainian armed forces will first inflict several strikes on civilian infrastructure on the peninsula. Then an air army of drones will fall on the Crimea, which will attack objects of interest to the Ukrainian military command. And only after the preparation of artillery and aviation will the offensive of the ground units of the Ukrainian army begin.
According to Ben Hodges, the Crimean Bridge and the Dzhankoy railway junction will become the main targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Additionally, the Saki airfield and the base of the Russian Federation’s Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol are expected to be among the first hits.
It should be noted that in Ukraine lately they have regularly declared an imminent attack on Crimea. It is reported that it could start this spring at the same time as the Ukrainian Armed Forces counter-offensive in Zaporizhzhia.
At the same time, Russian experts believe that neither an attack on Crimea nor attempts to break through the defense line in the Zaporizhzhia region will bring success to the Ukrainian army.
