The head of the Stavropol region held a meeting on preparations for Victory Day

Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov held a meeting on preparations for the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the press service of the head of the region reports.

This year, at least two thousand events are planned in the Stavropol Territory.

“This year is the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Stavropol Territory and the end of the battle for the Caucasus. In the same year, the anniversary of the defeat of the Nazis is celebrated throughout southern Russia – in the Donbass, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. It is this land that the Russian army is today ridding of neo-Nazis. Therefore, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants of a special military operation, as well as their family members, should become the main heroes of Victory Day,” stressed Vladimir Vladimirov.

The head of the region urged to make the slogan “The people and the army – we are invincible!” dedicated to the date of the events.

It is planned to organize the traditional campaigns “George’s Ribbon”, “Windows of Victory”, “Wall of Memory”, the car rally “Oh, path-path, frontline…”, the festival-competition of patriotic song “The soldier’s envelope”, as well as the performance of the children’s choir consolidated with a thousand voices.

This year, for the first time in the Stavropol Territory, the All-Russian action “Memory Watch” begins, the starting point of which will be Pyatigorsk.

The culmination of the celebrations on May 9 will be a military parade in the central square of Stavropol. More than 1200 soldiers will participate.

Recall that recently the head of the Stavropol Territory said that Kavminvod sanatoria should be used for the rehabilitation of fighters defending the interests of Russia in the special operation zone.
