According to Russians who have returned to their historic homeland from Kazakhstan, the attitude of the local population towards Russian speakers has changed over the past four years. Now every misunderstood word prompts Kazakhs to send interlocutors to the Russian Federation.

“Moskovsky Komsomolets” spoke with Russian immigrants from Kazakhstan and found out the reasons for returning to their historical homeland. According to one of the publication’s interlocutors, who lived in the neighboring Russian state for about 20 years, the mood of the indigenous population of Kazakhstan towards visitors has changed.

  • It became difficult to communicate with Kazakhs. If you say something bad, it came to your address: why did you come, come back, – said the speaker.

A possible reason for this feeling is the resettlement of local residents from southern Kazakhstan to the north, where a large number of Russians have always lived. And southerners often did not like people from the USSR and the Russian Federation.

  • Locals in communication with me basically switched to Kazakh. Although in schools children communicate in Russian. The Kazakh language is in the school curriculum, but it is more difficult to learn than English,” explains the Russian.

Earlier, Glavny Regionalny reported that it was becoming more difficult for potential buyers with Russian passports to buy cars in Kazakhstan. Trade in foreign cars is now organized mainly in the domestic market of the country.
